Houston floods. Your house doesn't have to. We lift slab, pier-and-beam, and brick homes 2 to 10 feet above base flood elevation — engineered, permitted, FEMA-eligible. Same crew that handles your roof handles your foundation.
Houston has flooded in 2015, 2016, 2017 (Harvey), 2019 (Imelda), 2024 (Beryl). FEMA classifies a third of Harris County as Special Flood Hazard Area. If your home took on water once, the math says it will again. Lifting takes the math off the table — your habitable space sits above the next flood, your insurance premiums drop, and the home retains its value through the next storm cycle.
Structural engineer assesses your foundation type, soil, and target elevation. Stamped plans submitted to City of Houston, FEMA elevation certificate prepared.
Utilities disconnected (water, gas, sewer, electric). Plumbing and ductwork prepared for extension. Driveway and landscaping protected.
Steel I-beams threaded under the structure. Synchronized hydraulic jacks placed at calculated load points. Lift performed at 1/4 inch per pass to prevent stress fractures.
New piers, columns, or stem walls built to the target elevation. Engineered to current Houston wind and flood code. Hurricane straps and seismic ties throughout.
House lowered onto the new foundation. Steel removed. Utilities reconnected and tested. Plumbing, sewer, gas, and electric brought up to code.
New stairs, deck, skirting, and landscaping. Final FEMA elevation certificate issued. Insurance premium reassessment paperwork delivered to your agent.
Pier-and-beam is the easiest. Slab-on-grade is harder but routine. Brick veneer requires extra bracing. Two-story is no different from one — just more synchronized jacks. We've lifted bungalows, ranches, two-stories, and post-Harvey rebuilds. The house determines the engineering, not whether we'll take the job.
Range depends on lift height, foundation type, soil, and access. FEMA HMA grants can cover up to 75% of total cost for homes in Special Flood Hazard Areas. We help you apply.
FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) program funds elevation projects for homes in flood-prone areas. The City of Houston also runs a local match program. We handle the application start to certificate of occupancy — engineer plans, BCA documentation, permits, and the local jurisdiction submission included in the project scope.
