When the bones need work, we bring engineers.

Foundation repair, framing, post-storm rebuild, load-bearing wall modifications. Houston's clay soil and storm history mean structural work is rarely cosmetic. Engineer-stamped plans on every project. Permits pulled, code-plus standard.

Overview

Houston soil moves. Houses move with it.

Houston sits on expansive clay that swells with rain and shrinks in drought. Slabs crack, pier-and-beam frames sag, brick veneer separates. Most of the structural work we do isn't because someone built it wrong — it's because the ground keeps moving. Catching it early is the difference between $4,000 and $40,000.

What We Do

Services we offer.

01

Foundation Repair

Slab piers, pier-and-beam re-leveling, drainage correction. We work with structural engineers — never with sales-driven 'foundation companies' that prescribe piers regardless of what's actually needed.

02

Framing & Carpentry

Wall framing, roof framing, joist replacement, beam installation. Old-school carpentry on historic homes; modern engineered lumber on new builds.

03

Load-Bearing Modifications

Open-concept renovations, removing walls, adding beams. Engineer designs the load path; we install with permits pulled.

04

Post-Storm Rebuild

Tree-on-house damage, hurricane structural damage, fire restoration framing. Storm response →

05

Houselifting Prep

Structural work needed before lifting — beam reinforcement, post placement, foundation prep. House lifting →

06

Inspection & Reports

Pre-purchase structural inspections, engineer-stamped reports for insurance or sale. Free for our existing clients.

Questions

Asked & answered.

How do I know if I have foundation problems?
Common signs: cracks in drywall (especially around windows and doors), doors that won't latch, sloped floors, gaps between baseboards and floor. Hairline cracks are usually cosmetic; cracks wider than a credit card are worth investigating. We do free inspections.
Do you use structural engineers?
Yes, on every structural project. We have working relationships with several Houston structural engineering firms. Their stamp is required for permits on most structural work, and it's required for insurance claims and resale documentation.
Will insurance cover foundation repair?
Usually no — most policies exclude 'earth movement' which covers expansive soil. Exceptions: foundation damage from a plumbing leak, or sudden damage from an event (tree fall, vehicle impact). We help document the cause to determine coverage.
How long does foundation repair take?
Slab pier installation: 3–7 days for a typical home. Pier-and-beam re-leveling: 5–10 days. Major framing: 2–6 weeks. We coordinate with the engineer and pull permits before starting.
Can foundation problems get worse if ignored?
Yes, often dramatically. Small cracks become structural cracks. Sloping floors become unlevel doors and windows that won't close. Water intrusion from foundation cracks compounds the problem. The earlier you address it, the cheaper it is.
